International Friends

We love that you want to attend our events. Truly—we do. It means the world to us that our work resonates beyond borders and that you’re willing to travel to be a part of what we’re building. But given the current political climate in the United States, if I were you, I would wait.

This is not an easy post to write. Our events are designed to foster connection, joy, creativity, and purpose. But none of that can happen if attendees don’t feel safe—or worse, aren’t safe.

Here’s the reality right now: Germany and the United Kingdom have issued travel advisories for the U.S., and Canada has gone so far as to discourage travel entirely. Their concern? The risk of arbitrary detention and a lack of due process—especially for those who may be politically active or outspoken.

While we wish we could say they’re overreacting, the truth is, things are likely to get worse before they get better. And as much as we want you with us, we want you protected even more.

If you do decide to come, please be careful. Consider traveling with a burner phone—one that doesn’t contain your personal photos, messages, or search history. There are increasing reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection is connecting travelers' devices to scanning systems that may flag individuals who have been critical of the current administration. This may sound dystopian, but it's not fiction. It's happening.

We know this may come across as alarmist to some, but if you're not from here, you don’t have the same legal protections once you step off that plane. And the safeguards we used to rely on? They’re not holding like they used to.

We’ll continue to hold space for joy and resistance in whatever ways we can. And we hope that someday soon, this kind of post won’t be necessary. But until then, your safety is more important than our guest list.

Stay alert. Stay grounded. And know that your presence matters—wherever you are.
