Don’t love your room?
Quick hotel tip that a surprising number of people don’t realize:
If you’re offered a room change because you’re unhappy with your current room, you don’t have to just say yes and hope for the best.
You can ask to see it first.
I had a guest who was disappointed with her room but was concerned that being reassigned wouldn’t improve her situation. Totally fair. No one wants to pack up, move, and then regret it.
So I told her: you can simply say, “May I go take a look at the room before I switch?”
That’s it. No drama, no confrontation. Hotels are used to this, especially at higher-end properties.
It gives you control of the situation instead of rolling the dice.
Bottom line: you’re not locked into a blind swap. If you’re moving rooms, make sure it’s actually an upgrade before you commit.
